A Plea for Justice
A Psalm of Asaph.
1God stands in the congregation of 82:1 Heb. El, lit. Godthe mighty;
He judges among the 82:1 Judges; Heb. elohim, lit. mighty ones or godsgods.
2How long will you judge unjustly,
And show partiality to the wicked? Selah
382:3 VindicateDefend the poor and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and needy.
4Deliver the poor and needy;
Free them from the hand of the wicked.
5They do not know, nor do they understand;
They walk about in darkness;
All the foundations of the earth are 82:5 movedunstable.
6I said, “You are 82:6 Judges; Heb. elohim, lit. mighty ones or godsgods,
And all of you are children of the Most High.
7But you shall die like men,
And fall like one of the princes.”
8Arise, O God, judge the earth;
For You shall inherit all nations.
